Chic, elegant, yet cozy.  Set like a living room, the Olive Jazz Room is definitely a place to chill and relax, as one takes a break from the busy, bustling city.
Opens daily from 11am to 1am

The Olive Lounge opens daily from 11am to 1am

Catered to businessmen and families, the Olive Jazz Room is equipped with a pool table, projection screen, board games, mini library and computer rentals.  In addition to their drinks selection, the lounge also offers lunch and dinner.

Lay back and relax with a glass of wine and enjoy the beautiful music of jazz

Set as a living room, the Olive Lounge is decorated with simple potteries and picture frames.

Unwind yourself after a hard day at work at the Olive Lounge

Now to the highlight.  The Olive Jazz Room plays a wide selection of beautiful, soothing jazz music.  The lounge also has its own band that plays fantastic jazz songs, accompanied with great female vocal.

Due to its style and possibly the location, the Olive Jazz Room attracts mostly groups of more mature crowds.

The Olive Jazz Room is located on the 23rd Floor at Pacific Regency Hotel Suites.

INVESTMENT ADVICE

If you had purchased £1000 of Northern Rock shares one year ago, it would now be worth £4.95, with HBOS, earlier this week your £1000 would have been worth £16.50, £1000 invested in XL Holidays would now be worth less than £5, but if you bought £1000 worth of Stella Lager one year ago, drank it all, then took the empty cans to an aluminium re-cycling plant, you would get £214.

The best investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

Stumbled upon a sub-site of telegraph.co.uk displaying finalists of the Nikon Travel Photography Competition. The overall photo quality is exceptional. Telegraph selected some of the best works from almost 3,000 entries and categorised them into 5 categories, namely landscapes, animals, urban living, the natural world and people. It further narrowed 10 best pieces. (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/3086912/Nikon-travel-photography-competition-The-10-finalists.html)

The one photo that really captured one’s attention and imagination is the photo shown here, taken by Haidar Alwan-Walker of Harrogate, titled Cuban Woman. The wittiness of the subject, the colours and composition really put a smile on one’s face.

” There’s next-to-nothing, there’s almost-nothing, then there’s less-than-nothing,” was how Jacobs described his almost non-existent skirts. The models were adorned with sequins, beads, brooches, feathers, jewelled chokers, pendants and cuffs, and super-embellished shoes.

Facchinetti’s Collection was inspired by 1920’s jewels and designed delicately. The jewels are worn at the throat, wrist, waist and slippers. They are also seen in jewel- print chiffons in soft citrus shades.

Chloé’s collection oozes British Cool with sun-dresses, jumpsuits, and rolled-up shorts all screaming the essence of Brits.

Galliano presented an African inspired collection where the models strutted on a six-inch, metal “fertility goddess” heels as well as a high plaited head-dresses. Galliano was inspired by “my memories of many trips, all over Africa”

Balmain by Christophe Decarnin

Balmain’s Collection is inspired by punk, Madonna and Ancient Egyptians. The show kicked off with Madonna’s music and models parading in short, emerald, black and shocking pink micro-minis. Egyptian mummies come to mind when you see the way the models carry the skin-tight dresses and they are also adorned with punk studs, crystals, and jewels.

Antonio Marras brought ‘Alice in Wonderland’ to life, at the Paris prêt-à-porter season. There are crystals and pearls, shells and beads adorned with smock-dresses and empire-line dresses. Sequins on dresses and jewel-embroidered knits makes the collection complete.

John Galliano’s “old English” style, inspired, in part by the 18th century political satirist, James Gillray. A burst of colours can be seen on stage when the models walked out in lime and pink jackets worn with bright and floral skirts, aswell as colourful pleats and ruffles.

Checked out Brussels @ Jaya One just before the Raya break.  It was fairly full.  The crowd, mainly there for a few beers after work were mainly 25+.  It was a good mix of men and women.

Hoegaarden Beer | Half Pint | Full Pint

We all ordered the highly recommended Hoegaarden.  There aren’t many places offering Hoegaarden in KL, but its definitely my preferred beer.  Its light, easy to drink and refreshing, definitely goes well with light snacks.
